a day in London

hello all!

just a quick update: i am currently in LONDON! well, i'm at the london heathrow airport....very long layover...and in about an hour, i will be on a flight to South Africa! woot!

for the last few hours, i've been lounging in the British Airways Lounge...and by that i  mean that i have been napping, reading, and eating, all while having a beautiful view of a city i do so love!

the plane i was on from dallas to london was the coolest ever! we flew business class (1st time for that!) and i had my own little pod and the seat folded down flat into a bed! it was heaven! i think i could successfully live in business class forever! it took a lot to get off that plane!

i hope everyone has a fun and safe new year's eve and a happy/healthy/successful new year in 2012! best wishes to everyone!

hello all!

i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy Hanukkah!

today i leave for SOUTH AFRICA!!! i'm super excited, but also a bit stressed, as i am going for surgery....and i am really NOT a big fan of needles...at all. blehhh.

anywho...it's like 3 hours til i head to the airport, and i am still in the process of packing! i am already a notorious over-packer...seriously, i could probably go pro in "overpacking", but it's much more difficult this time!! how much is too much when you're gone for a month?!!?!?!?! oy vey!!

on a different note: i plan on sharing the rest of my news once i arrive safely in south africa. i simply don't have enough time to type it all out at the moment. at least not in a coherent way...

BIG, EXCITING NEWS! part one

hello all!

sorry for the long absence, december moves so fast!! i've been super busy with work and family stuff, but i'm hoping that as december comes to a close i will have more time on my hands! :]

anywhoo.....it's time for some BIG NEWS!!! WOOOOOT!!! *crowd goes wild*

on december 30th, i will be leaving the country to go to South Africa!!!!

now, some of you might be wondering why, and i'm going to tell you!

my dad's side of the family is from south africa (he came to the U.S. when he was 16 on a tennis scholarship), and now i have a few relatives over there, but most are in the U.S.

anyways, i have had jaw issues since i was about 4, and we've always known surgery was probably the only way to fix the issues, so i am finally getting the much anticipated jaw surgery. i am getting it done in south africa b/c my grandfathers dentist is very good friends with one of the top maxifacialists (sp?) in the world, and he has agreed to do my surgery! it is a huge blessing!!

i am going with my grandmother, and we are staying with her sister, who still lives there!

we leave december 30th, fly into London (layover for a few hours), then we fly to South Africa! I'm there for almost a month (for recovery and all that), and then on January 24th, we fly back through London, and back to the U.S.!

while i'm there, i'll be taking lots of pictures and hopefully posting a bit (depending on wifi...) :]

hello all!

hope everyone had a marvelous thanksgiving and a safe/sane black friday! :]

sorry for not posting for a while...it's been rather crazy over here. lots of friends and family coming in and out of town for the holidays and things of that sort. i've also been working a  lot lately.

and on that note, i have 2 rather exciting things to share soon!

i'll hopefully be back to posting tomorrow when things calm down a bit!

Hello All!

HAPPY 11/11/11 AND VETERANS DAY!!

special thanks to our troops! thanks for all you do!

quick random update: my brother had the flu last week, so i stayed with him and we watched an unhealthy amount of movies! one of the "sick days" he watched 4 dreamworks films! this is pretty unusual for my brother. he's always playing tennis. being inactive doesn't agree with him. anywhoo, we had a lovely time! we watched quite a bit of harry potter, the big bang theory, and other random stuff! we also took up playing "CLUE", which i had never played before! tons of fun!! really enjoyed this extra time with my brother...even if he was coughing everywhere!

so in short, last week was not a picture-taking week.

not much happened today, just ran some errands. the weather has been rather bipolar lately (typical texas), so it only made sense to confuse it by wearing summer clothing in a fall way!

MEET ELVIS! he is the youngest of my 3 dogs. he enjoys long walks on the beach, all food, and getting caught in the rain. :]

this is ISABELLE. she's the oldest. she's a neurotic mess, but i love her anyways! she visited me briefly during this post, and then she left the room in a worried state....it's what she does.

hahaha! i feel ridiculous! there are almost as many pictures of my dogs in this post! oh well! they make me happy!!

Back in Black

Hello All!

it's so good to see you all again! i assume you are all doing quite well and enjoying this fine november, which makes me happy! this past week has been pretty normal (for me...), and since i didn't have any interesting halloween plans, i don't have any interesting costume pictures...how interesting! i just answered the door to trick or treaters dressed as a penguin from madagascar...and by that i mean that i was wearing my super amazing/wildly comfortable penguin feety pajamas!!! fact: I LOVE FEETIE PAJAMAS A TON! i wear them in public any chance i get. they are the best invention since the wheel! :]

-fun fact: i wore this dress in my high school production ofR+J a few years ago, which was a modern day version of Romeo and Juliet (the play) and the style was european high fashion. it was worn differently in the show.
